How to: Water marble

Hi everyone. Just a quick update from me, followed by a detailed tutorial on how to water marble. Water marbling is a fun and creative way to create a one-of-a-kind manicure. So i thought i would make a tutorial for all of you who haven't tried water marbling, and are dying to try it out. So let's get right into it shall we?

Like my little note?

You will need:

- A bowl of room tempature water
- Toothpicks, or anything like that
- Nail polishes of you're choice
- Tape
- Nail polish remover
- Q-tips and or cotton pads

Now let's begin

First i painted my nails with OPI - What's with the Cattitude. It's always a good idea to have a basecolor when you water marble. Then the colors you water marble with, will really show up. If you don't want a specific base color, a great idea is to paint them with a basic white. This will make the colors pop, but it wont clash with anything, or show up in itself. I whent with pretty sheer colors in my water marbling, so i chose a base with some color.

Then the next step is to put tape around your nails. This will make sure that you don't get a whole lot of polish on your cuticles, and fingers in general. As shown on the picture above, i start with a piece of tape across my finger, following the bottom edge of my cuticle.

Then i add another piece of tape, which i place on the top of my fingers like so. Then i fold it down on each side so that it covers the sides of my cuticles. It should look something like this:

(sorry for the blurry picture, my camera was acting weird)

Now we reach the fun part. Creating the watermarble. A little tip when you are doing water marbling, leave the caps, on the polishes you are using, loose. Like this:

The marble colors i'm using are OPI - Catch me in your net and GOSH - Vanilla ice.

Now you're simply going to drop in your colors, so for example im doing a drop of blue, then a drop of white, then blue then white, and so on. You can use as many colors as you like. When you have dropped in your polishes, it should look something like this:

Then you take your toothpick and make a pattern. This is how it's going to look on your nails. You can do a swirl or anything your little heart desires. Here is how mine ended up looking.

Cute right?

Then you take your nicely taped and polished finger, and place however you want your pattern on your nail.

Like so.
Then when your finger  is in the water and you are at the point of the second picture. Take your toothpick from before, and pick up all of the excess polish around your finger. If you don't do this, it can end up ruining the pattern on your nail, so it's a pretty important step.

Then it should look something like this:

Now all i do is just peel of the tape and apply a top coat. I'm using the Sally Hansen Mega Shine.

If you have any excess polish on your skin, you can just take a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover, and clean up any polish in unwanted places.

This is the finished result:

It think this is a really cute and fun way to do a manicure. And i hope all of you thought the same :)
If theres anything you didn't understand, or whatever, you're welcome to write a comment down below. I'm always enjoying some constructive critisism.

Much love

Make up brushes, how do you choose?

Hi Guys :)

So i'm not even going to talk about me being missing. It's just not something i want to get into. But today i actually have a really interesting subject to talk about :) Make up brushes. Yes, it might seem like a small thing, but for a lot of people this is a giant problem! Which brushes do you choose? Which brushes are worth spending your money on. Will they shred? Will they last? All of these questions and more we have probably asked ourselves several times. If you haven't, lucky you. I have had a lot of issues deciding which brushes to buy. So lets get started.

M.A.C.

Arh, MAC, the brushes of brushes. Now these brushes are on the top of the pyramid! They are of amazing quality, and they have a extremely large selection. These brushes are really great, and if you have the money, and the opportunity to get these brushes. I defiantly recommend getting these. But honestly. How many of us, starting out in make-up, can afford to pay 32$ for a small contouring brush? Now as i said before i love MAC brushes. But not only can i not afford to pay for these amazing brushes. Neither do i have as easy access to them as most of you probably do. But that is a whole other story. So lets conclude:

You want MAC brushes if:  You desire a high quality product, and only the best will do. These are perfect for professional make up artists. And for personal use also.

MAC brushes get 5/5 stars for quality. Though prise wise it may drag them down a bit for most people.

You can get these brushes at your local MAC counter or store, or you can get them online here

Sigma

Sigma brushes are high quality brushes very close to MAC. Now of course MAC is MAC and Sigma is Sigma, so don't mix these two babies together, but some make up artists and personal users, actually prefer Sigma over MAC. Sigma has a very wide selection, and a lot of their brushes are either compatible or identical to MAC brushes. Now this is great news for all of you poor MAC lovers out there. Sigma brushes are known for being the best MAC dupe out there. Now that being said, Sigma brushes have some mixed opinions. Most people are fond of these brushes and do not experience any issues besides maybe some minor shredding before wash. Now others have said to have experienced more shredding than normal, but still to a point where it is very well bearable. Some say that they have experienced minor color leakage in first wash. Over all i would defiantly recommend these brushes, since i myself have the premium brush kit, and i have experienced nothing but good things so far. These brushes come individually and in sets. The Professional brush kit, with 15 brushes and a black brush roll, retails for 149$ So these brushes are still on the more expensive side, but a lot cheaper than MAC. They also have a premium set which you can get with and without a brush roll. W/brush roll it costs 99$ and without 79$

You want Sigma brushes if: You want MAC quality brushes, but for a much lower price. These brushes can very well be used by professionals and of course also for personal use.

I give Sigma a 4,5/5 for quality and price

You can get these brushes by clicking on the picture above.

ELF: Eyes Lips Face Studio Line Brushes

Now if you wanna start out your collection, but you're afraid to use to much money on brushes, i think i have just what you're looking for. ELF is a smaller make-up brand, who sells mostly from their website. These brushes are amazing compared to the price. I've experienced almost no shredding. I think there was a little bit when i washed my complexion brush for the first time. I've had these brushes for almost a year or so, and they are still great. They don't seam cheap at all, which was probably my biggest concern when buying these brushes. All in all, these are amazing brushes for anyone who wants to start out with a basic set of all the needed brushes. And who still wants quality. For a 11 piece set with all you need to start out with make-up you have to pay 30$ on their website. Very often ELF has coupon codes, so so might get lucky and get a discount. So great brushes, i do highly recommend these for starting out, and maybe even beyond that. Right now ELF also has the same brush set, with glitter, but this is a limited addition so hurry up if you want to sparkle.

You want ELF brushes if: You're starting out in make-up and you want to save quite a lot of money. But you also want something worth your money!

I give ELF a 5/5 in order of quality compared to price. Now in plain quality i would give these a 3,5-4/5

You can get these brushes here

Now there are a lot of other brushes out there, but i wanted to tell you guys about the ones i really like myself.  Hope this was useful to some of you, have a great day :)

Random blabbing and nail art

Hello all of my beautiful followers!

Though there aren't that many of you, i'm really really glad that i even have any. I'm new to this whole blogging thing (as you probably noticed), so i still need to get used to the whole concept of blogging. Oh well, like you care about that.
Yesterday i was actually planning on writing a bunch of drafts to post in the next couple of days, but then my sister got really sick, and she had to get hospitalized. She's currently at the hospital so we brought her 4 year old daughter home with us. Therefor i don't know how much time i'm gonna get for blogging. I'm gonna try as hard as i can, but my sister also want us to visit and all of that. Plus it's a really long drive up there. Maybe i'll just bring my computer, but i hope to get as much done as possible! What a sad post, lets make this more happy shall we?
The other day i joined Kris' mini giveaway and for my entry i wrote a poem, because i felt kind of inspired and creative. Here's the poem i wrote:

Mini's are small
mini's are cute.
Mini's are clever
and mini's are beaut'e.

I buy them too often,
i see them all the time.
It's like seeing a mountain,
you simply must climb.

From Color Club to OPI,
so cute, almost a crime.
All in all they really are,
amazing and oh so sublime.

I know, it's kind of cheesy, but you know you love the cheesy-ness!
So i didn't win the giveaway, Ice Queen did. She's really cool, go check her out! But that's not the reason for me mentioning the giveaway. After it ended Kris wrote me an email saying that i wasn't the winner, but she was really in love with my poem, so she really wanted to sent me something.
I was totally overwhelmed and pretty much didn't believe it.
So yesterday she sent me an email saying that she had sent me a little something something. Isn't she awesome?! She's one of the nicest bloggers i know!
So i'm probably going to receive the package sometimes next week, and then i'm gonna show you guys what she sent me(: If your reading this Kris, you're really really awesome!

On another note i just ordered some nail foils, my first nail foils must i add, and i even ordered 25 different kinds, of 5 feet each.  Mostly because i had to use a minimum of 25$ and the foils where 1$ each. The cool thing was that for every 6 foils you buy, you get a free adhesive, which is a must when you do nail foils. I'm going to do a little tutorial when i recieve them. I ordered these foils from dollarnailart, it's a really great site! And the best part, they ship internationally.
Oh well, i'm sorry for the non nail post, but i just wanted to tell you guys a bit about the coming posts.

I'm going to leave you off with a little nail art experiment i did the other day

I'm sorry for the rough finish, but i just ran out of my good top coat, so i had to use other methods! I need a new top coat!!!!!!
I'm wearing a base of China Glaze - Millenium. Then i used Color Club - French Tip and Color Club - I Believe In Amour to make the inner parts of the leopard spots. I just used a detail nail art brush to make the spots them selves.

Well, that's all for today. Have a great day!

Cute little haul and Susies giveaway

Hello all of you beautiful people. about a mounth ago i ordered some polishes from these danish bloggers, and i was really looking forward to getting the polishes. So i had already ordered from them before, and i knew that they where really nice and quick when it came to shipping the polishes. So after a month went by i couldn't understand why i hadnt recieved the polishes.
So i wrote a mail to the girls i ordered it from and explained the situation, asking if they had shipped them, or if the postal office had lost my package or whatever.
We quickly found out that they actually had forgot to ship them, and she shipped them the same day. Now here is the fun part, when she realized her mistake, she also included a little extra something as an apology. So without further ado, here are some pictures:

Oh yes, she sent me 3 OPI mini's from the new Shrek collection, from left to right:
